      if i have to
  cry, i'm gonna cry on the inside.
      if i have to bleed, i'll bruise.

  my heart starts going crazy,
      i'm not gonna tell everyone in the world
  about it.

      it doesn't help anything.
      it just makes everyone's life
  worse.

      - extremely loud and
  incredibly close

  the nine-year-old
  protagonist in that novel is very similar to how i
  was at that age,
  at least in terms of protecting people.

  to read about
  him makes me feel sad and comforted at the same
  time.
